Irish Friendship

Friends and kindness can not be split, it becomes one set of live.
You will not get friend without any kindness on yr heart, and you
also can not do a kindness without being a friend...

His name was Fleming, and he was a poor Scottish farmer. One day,
while trying to make a living for his family, he heard a cry for
help coming from a nearby bog. He dropped his tools and ran to the
bog. There, mired to his waist in black muck, was a terrified boy,
screaming and struggling to free himself. Farmer Fleming saved the
lad from what could have been a slow and terrifying death. The next
day, a fancy carriage pulled up to the Scotsman's sparse
surroundings. An elegantly dressed nobleman stepped out and
introduced himself as the father of the boy Farmer Fleming had
saved.

'I want to repay you,' said the nobleman. 'You saved my son's life.'
'No, I can't accept payment for what I did,' the Scottish farmer
replied waving off the offer. At that moment, the farmer's own son
came to the door of the family hovel.
'Is that your son?' the nobleman asked.
'Yes,' the farmer replied proudly.
'I'll make you a deal. Let me provide him with the level of
education my own son will enjoy If the lad is anything like his
father, he'll no doubt grow to be a man we both will be proud of.'

And that he did. Farmer Fleming's son attended the very best
schools and in time, graduated from St. Mary's Hospital Medical
School in London, and went on to become known throughout the world
as the noted Sir Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of Penicillin.

Years afterward, the same nobleman's son who was saved from the bog
was stricken with pneumonia.
What saved his life this time? Penicillin.
The name of the nobleman? Lord Randolph Churchill.
His son's name? Sir Winston Churchill.
Someone once said: What goes around comes around.

Work like you don't need the money.
Love like you've never been hurt.
Dance like nobody's watching.
Sing like nobody's listening.
Live like it's Heaven on Earth.

AN IRISH FRIENDSHIP WISH:
May there always be work for your hands to do;
May your purse always hold a coin or two;
May the sun always shine on your windowpane;
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain;
May the hand of a friend always be near you;
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
and may you be in heaven a half hour before the devil knows your'e
dead.

Dad Who Replaces Us

Punishment often can not change someone. But with the example of right action can alter a person be better than when he/she was punished again and again. Let the following story teaches us as a parents to give more examples than the punishment on our children ...

Father and mother are always joined to serve in church services every week. My father became a member of the choir and mother became the organist. Therefore, my brother and me always sit alone without parental supervision. Each time the service, we sat on the right front of the existing pews. And, so free, we often act casually. As the result after the choir finished, Dad often took one of us came out and hit us, because he was embarrassed by our actions.

From so many services that we follow it, there was a very memorable event for me. As usual, my father and mother are in their respective positions for duty. Only the church was crowded at that time, so the choir members should remain sat until the service ended. As usual we are very naughty. Throughout the service we were laughing, jumping around there, up and down to the seat, even crawling under the pews.
When we arrived home, my father called us. From the voice we knew he was furious. But we suspect, as usual my father would only hit us. If yes, then I would say that my brother who invited me to misbehave so that he will be beaten. My brother was strong, he would sit quietly on his father's lap and "enjoy" a blow until my father tired. He never asked for mercy or crying in pain as he sometimes even smiles.
But on that day my father told us to sit down in living room. That means there's something really serious. Father had prepared the bat, but he did not ask why we were naughty or preach to us as usual. Dad was silent and then said "Daddy had failed to become a good father for both of you"
Dad took the bat and said again: "Now Daddy wants you to hit my hand. Daddy should be punished for can not teach you to behave well " We even laughed at, because we thought my father was joking. But he did not laugh. We just realized that my father really serious.
I have never seen my brother cry. Dad even yell at him to take the bat. When he hit his father, his emotions burst, and tears spilled. He was unable to continue to beat because his heart was sliced. When it was my turn to hit, my hand also felt so weak.
I will always remember that experience. Dad would be punished in my place. His attitude was really touched and even affect me until now. After I became a father, I also will sacrifice for my children. No doubt, since that day we changed. We do not want to repeat that experience. We did not immediately turn into an angel, but we really want to try so that my father do not have to accept the punishment for our behavior.

There are some miracle story from Earthquake Tragedy in Sichuan China May 2008.. One of them is the save baby because of the brave mother which died to shield her son.

This baby, after being burried over 24 hours, miraculously, was rescued unscratched. He is about 3-4 months old. When the earthquake happened his mother kneeled down, pinned her head and hands on the ground to shielded him from falling concrete, and milked him.
His mother did not make it out. A rescue worker found his mom's cell phone in his wrapper. It had a text message left by his mother : "Dear child, if you survive, please remember, Mom loves you forever..."

Family Picture

This story is special for all parent which sometimes didn’t realize even physically they are at home but their kids can not feel their attendance. I hope we can realize it before it become too late for us to change. Someday we will feel as a happy parent when we realize ‘our picture’ are in our kids heart …

I was sitting on my favorite chair in our guest room, studied for my doctoral examination when my daughter Sarah suddenly came to me and ask “Dad, will you see our family picture which I draw?” I said “Sarah I am very busy right now, can you come back here a few minute later, dear ?” .Good reason, right ? After one week full of work, even on Sunday, sometimes it also happened to you.

After ten minutes, she came back again and said “Dad, I want to show my drawing”
I feel my blood blast to my head “Sarah, I said later, I still have important thing to do !”
After three minutes, she came back again on the guest room, this time she stand about 3 inch from my nose, and shout with full power of five year kids “Daddy want to see it or not?”
"No” I said “Daddy don’t want to see it”.

After she heard that suddenly she went out from the room and left me alone. But I still did not feel free as I thought on contrary I feel worried, I feel become a bad parent for her, therefore I go to the front door and call her. “Sarah will you come in? Daddy want to see your drawing” She follow without any argue and sit on my lap.

The drawing is very good, Sarah even gave it title with her best written “My Best Family”. “Tell me about this picture” asked me. "This is mom (she is pointed on a thin woman with long weavy hair), this is me stand near mom (she pointed it with smile), this is Katie our dog and this is Missie (she pointed on thinny girl)". How she look at our family was very interesting.

“Daddy like yr drawing” I said “Daddy want to hang it on the wall of dinning room so every night when I am back from work and study (usually on about 10 pm) I can see it". She was very happy when she heard that, then she continue to play outside.

I continued to read my book, but because of something, I read the same paragraph so many times. Something bother my mind, something about Sarah’s drawing, something is missing.
I went to the front door “Sarah” I called her “will you come in for a few minute?” I want to see your drawing again”. I asked a question to my daughter, but I didn’t think I am ready to hear her answer. “Dear in your drawing there are your mom, Sarah and Missie. There are also our dog Katie. But Sarah..., where is Daddy?”. “Daddy was in the library” she answered.

Short answer from my daughter make me shocked for a few minutes. I sit on my chair with my heart beat rapidly. The fog which cover my mind suddenly disappear, and my eyes was opened. What I have just heard look so scary and I feel like I will die. I just realized it. God has many ways to get our attention, today I got it through my daughter. Will you let Him to get your attention today?. Need a few year before I feel “at home”.

What a unforgotten day when three people which meaningful to my life gave me a present. My daughter Missy call it as a “family picture”. I know this is sound crazy but my heart beat rapidly again. Once more the big drawing which show picture of our family, drawing with crayon, this time draw by our younger kids. My eyes started to look who is on the drawing, and I found a tall man with mustache, stand on the middle of the family. Daddy. Finally I am back on the drawing, back to the place which I should be …
