Saturday morning, Raymond was awakened by a ringing telephone. While his wife, still sleeping soundly. As to the living room, his mind drifted to the two married sons and his daughter which still in college. Raymond hopes that people who call the wrong number because the phone in the middle of the night usually only bring bad news.
Still in a sleepy state, he replied with a murmur, "Hello?"
But the sounds were sobs. Raymond inwardly prayed, "Father, give me strength for whatever may happen."
"Daddy?" came the voice of a girl.
"Yes", he said. His voice was heavy because he has just awakened. From across the sobs came. Raymond asked in a whisper so his wife did not wake up, "What’s happened, dear?"
"Daddy ..." she seemed to try to control herself. Raymond is still waiting.
"Daddy, forgive me."
Raymond hopes that he would only hear the matter such as failed the test. The girl was crying and kept crying.
"Daddy?" the girl voice called again.
"Yeah, Daddy here" said Raymond.
"Dad, I'm pregnant"
Raymond gasped. How could this happen? So far he and his wife had raised their children with love, according to the teachings of the church and the Bible.
This news was hard to believe, because Raymond did not even know his daughter had had a lover. In his heart he pleaded strength, the words right and the correct response to this problem although he was very disappointed.
The girl's voice pleading and full of remorse, begging his forgiveness. And Raymond does not ask how that could happen. "We love you", he said, interrupted by tears. "We forgive you, dear"
The conversation lasted more than half an hours. After that, Raymond sat down and cried until the morning. When his wife woke up, he told the news to her.
All day they are reluctant to do anything. They just busy writing letters to their daughter. In the letter they said that they would be open to receive children and their grandchildren will. They will always guide her and support whatever decision she would take to the father of the baby.
According to the post, it will be delivered on Monday morning. While waiting, Raymond and his wife truly tormented.
During this weekend Raymond pray God was pleased eliminate what had happened, and restore the situation as a few hours before he received a call.
Monday morning, with eyes still red Raymond went to work. In the afternoon he received a call from her daughter.
"Father" his daughter said, laughing "What's a letter about?"
Apparently the bad news is not true. Her daughter did not call before dawn on Saturday. It's just a wrong number, a surprise on the midnight . Two people talking on the phone, and feel recognize each other. Finally Raymond trying all day to find out the phone from the middle of the night. He did not want the girl who called it go home to his father who she thought had forgiven his mistake.
God really answer Raymond prayer. When his girl calls, everything returns to normal. Everything, except for Raymond who got a lesson so that he becomes sensitive and can empathize with parents who get news like that.
